Our French Learning Pathway

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00–7:30 PM (WAT)

Duration: 12 weeks

Focus: Speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary & basic grammar.

• Greetings, introductions and everyday courtesy
• Numbers, dates, prices and telling the time
• Present tense: regular verbs plus être, avoir, aller and faire
• Ordering, shopping and asking for directions
• Reading short texts and writing a personal email

No prior French needed. Course booklet and audio files are included in the monthly fee.

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00–7:30 PM (WAT)

Duration: 12 weeks

Focus: Everyday communication, vocabulary, grammar, speaking, listening, reading & writing.

• Talking about routine, work, travel and free time
• The past with passé composé, and plans in the near future
• Wider vocabulary for shops, health, transport and the home
• Listening to short announcements, messages and dialogues
• Writing messages, postcards and simple descriptions

For learners who have finished A1 with us or elsewhere — a short placement chat confirms the fit.

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00–7:30 PM (WAT)

Duration: 12 weeks

Focus: Conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, writing & real-life communication.

• Passé composé and imparfait — telling a story properly
• Pronunciation, liaison and rhythm drilled out loud
• Opinion, agreement and polite disagreement
• Listening to French radio, podcasts and the press
• Formal and informal register, spoken and written

Entry by a short placement conversation — free, about fifteen minutes.

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00–7:30 PM (WAT)

Duration: 12 weeks

Focus: Fluency, advanced grammar, vocabulary, conversation, debate, writing & comprehension.

• Structured debate — arguing, conceding and persuading in French
• The subjunctive, the conditional and reported speech in use
• Idiom and nuance, so you sound less like a textbook
• Longer listening: interviews, documentaries and the news
• Essays, reports and formal correspondence

The natural step before exam preparation at B2 or C1 — ask us which suits your goal.

Focus: Exam strategies, speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, mock tests & personalised feedback.

• All four papers under exam timing: listening, reading, writing, speaking
• Exam strategy and technique for each paper, not just the French
• Mock tests marked to the official grid, with personalised feedback
• Oral simulations recorded, then reviewed with you
• IGCSE French streams for Cambridge and Edexcel candidates, coursework and orals included
• Level-specific groups — A2, B1, B2 and above
• Guidance on registration and centre dates

Schedule: Saturday, 9:00–10:30 AM · Split into 7–10 and 11–14 groups

• Songs, stories and games alongside structured grammar
• Phonics — reading French out loud with confidence
• Classroom French for pupils taking it at school
• A short showcase for parents at the end of each term
• A termly progress note sent home

Siblings enrolled together receive a reduced second fee — ask us.

Schedule: Live online sessions scheduled on request

• Blocks of six to twelve weeks, or one intensive week
• Holiday intensives for secondary and university students
